Q : Some books have Lexile Code attached to it, while some others only have number score, and some have numbers and code. May I know the difference?
A : RA (Read Aloud) is the term used by Scholastic in Australia, instead of AD (Adult Directed). Both RA and AD both carry the same meaning; reading out loud for kids. The number reflect the score a student gain after taking the Lit Pro test while Lexile Code, usually comes in two alphabets, help to identify the right books to match the students’ reading abilities. For example, AD580L means, it is advisable for adults to read the text out loud for the children and the right book for this particular children will be the range of 580L.
